For those of us old enough to have lived through the 1980s as adults, they do not seem particularly distant, but in truth 40 years is a long time when the world is changing so fast. You will certainly feel the difference when you read this account and look at the images, but you will also notice that many of the same issues that we have today were causing problems in the town in the eighties. The Museum's study group have selected images to illustrate how our town changed during a decade of much change.
